3578689 - Error "Movement type 645 does not currently support serial number management" while processing outbound delivery in EWM - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

• Outbound delivery is stuck in the EWM queue.
• Error message "Movement type 645 does not currently support serial number management" is received.
• Attempt to reserve the goods issue results in another error: "Wait until updates of dependent data are completed in LE"

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Create an outbound delivery for EWM warehouse.
2. Encounter the error message "Movement type 645 does not currently support serial number management."
3. Attempt to reserve the goods issue.
4. Encounter another error: "Wait until updates of dependent data are completed in LE."

The Goods Receipt and Goods Issue are posted at the same time (One step) which influences the movement type of the GI from the delivery, which is determined as 645. This movement type does not support serial number management.

1. Use the Configuration Activities SSCUI '102231 - Determine Serial Number Profiles'.
2. Select the Serial Number Profile assigned to material, double click on 'Serializing procedures'.
3. For 'MMSL Maintain goods receipt and issue doc', change the 'Serial usage' to 02 Optional.
