3579544 - Error validating BW bridge connection in SAP Datasphere due to certificate issues

Symptom

Validation of BW Bridge connection in Datasphere fails with the following error :

  • Connection "Connection_name" is valid, but not all features are available. - Data flows are not supported. - Replication flows are not supported. - Remote tables can’t be used because of errors in the connection. - Model Import can’t be used because of errors in the connection.

    Remote Tables: Could not establish a secure connection because the server certificate couldn’t be validated. Please upload the certificate of the server or the certificate of the signing authority (CA). If you’re not authorized, please contact your administrator.
    Model Import: Could not establish a secure connection because the server certificate couldn’t be validated. Please upload the certificate of the server or the certificate of the signing authority (CA). If you’re not authorized, please contact your administrator. This error doesn't allow us to import new object from Connection_name. 

Environment

  • SAP Datasphere

Resolution

Ensure that the required certificates are imported into SAP Datasphere. Follow these steps:

  1. Download the following certificates:
    DigiCert Global Root CA
    DigiCert Global Root G2
  2. Import the certificates into SAP Datasphere:
    Navigate to the Certificate Management section in SAP Datasphere.
    Upload both certificates (DigiCertGlobalRootCA.crt.pem and DigiCertGlobalRootG2.crt.pem).
