3579612 - Issue with Handling Unit Identification Number on SD Outbound Delivery Document in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

  • The requirement is to have the Handling Unit Identification number on the SD outbound delivery document.
  • The Handling Unit information is not sent to LO immediately when the Handling Unit is packed at the EWM side. This information is sent to the LE side only after setting "ready for shipping" or Post GI.
  • The BADI is not called due to the delay in sending the Handling Unit information.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Pack the Handling Unit at the EWM side.
  2. Observe that the Handling Unit information is not immediately sent to LO.
  3. Notice that the BADI is not called.

Cause

The Handling Unit number is not listed at the import parameter with shipping BADIs like LE_SHP_SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE or LE_SHP_MODIFY_ITEM. The EWM CDS view I_EWM_HandlingUnitRef_2, which can retrieve the Handling Unit number referring delivery number, is not released yet.

Resolution

  1. A feature request regarding EWM CDS view I_EWM_HandlingUnitRef_2 needs to be submitted.
  2. Follow the instructions in SAP Note 2963059 - How to Submit Feature Requests for SAP S/4 HANA Cloud Product to submit the feature request.
