3579674 - "Away on Global Assignment" record is not getting created in Job Information for Home assignment - Employee Central

When a new global assignment is created for a user, the "Away on Global Assignment" record in job information is not created in the home assignment. 

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

1. Go to Employee Profile;
2. Add Global Assignment;
3. Check job information in the home assignment profile;
4. Result: Away on global assignment record is not created;

Position Entry Date is a required field for Job Information under jobinfo in the Manage Business Configuration tool. When the Away on Global Assignment record is being created, the home assignment's position and the position related fields are removed from the home assignment, which means that positionEntryDate will be automatically blank. If it is a mandatory field in jobinfo, the record will not be created and an error will be seen in the Admin Alerts.

You can find the error in the Admin Alerts tool:

1. Go to Admin Alerts;
2. Filter for "Position Follow-Up Processes";
3. Failed Position Follow-Up Processes: Create Leaving Home Position record for Global Assignment;
4. Message: Position Entry Date is a required field and cannot be blank;

To fix that, you need to make positionEntryDate a non mandatory field under jobinfo. 

Note: positionEntryDate is an automatic field calculated with Centralized Services and don't need to be set as Mandatory in the BCUI.
