3580038 - Dashboards showing a 500 error

When you open a Dashboard or try to adapt a dashboard you see a 500 error.

• SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Insights.
2. Go to Manage Dashboards.
3. Open the dashboard you want to work with or adapt it.
4. You will see the below error:

Unable to fetch analytics data - Function Module call Failed - server returned HTTP status: 500

There a few possible reasons that this can happen.

1. Too many tiles in the dashboard.
2. Too many reports that are pulling a lot of data.
3. The reports involved are not built to best practices and are putting a strain on the dashboard call and ends in a 500 error.

We would recommend to check the following:

1. The report(s) that is used in this dashboard and the underlying views and selections. Please check that the report runs fine with the chosen view and selection.
2. The number of tiles in this dashboard is currently quite high. We would recommend to check if these are all required and reduce if possible.
3. Check the dashboard with several users to see if it is working for them.
