3580087 - Contact Relationship External ID Not Working in Global Search for Contacts

You have an external system, like S/4 Hana. There your relationships have their own external IDs to link the objects involved. When using global search, you cannot find the contact when searching for some of these IDs, only for a single one.

SAP Cloud for Customer

1. Update contact relationships using the interface BusinessPartnerRelationshipReplicationIn.
2. Click in the global search icon.
3. Select contacts
4. Enter an External ID ABC (where ABC is an external ID pointing to a contact in C4C).
5. No results appear.

Global Search will only look into the default external ID of contacts. That would be the one that appears in contact header as 'External ID'. 

Standard design of global search only looks into the default external ID of objects. If the feature/functionality is required urgently, please refer to KBA ##3475641 - Functionality Currently not Available.
