• In the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, during the process of copying a sales order to another sales order, the Bill of Materials (BOM) items are not being exploded and copied into the target document.
• This issue is specifically observed in the public cloud system during the "Copy Sales Document to Sales Document" process.

The issue is due to a limitation in the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition where the BOM explosion during sales order copying is not supported.

1. Consider using Advanced Variant Configuration (AVC) if BOM materials are configurable. AVC allows for BOM components to be determined dynamically based on sales order characteristics.
2. As a workaround, manually add BOM components after copying the sales order to ensure all required items are included in the target document.
3. Submit a feature request via SAP Note 2963059 for consideration in future SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud releases.
