Symptom

    This KBA describes how to have the system display a message indicating that another sales order with the same customer reference has already existed, when a purchase order has already been used as the customer reference in a previous sales order.

    Environment

    SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

    Resolution

    Configure "Check Customer Reference - A (Check whether the purchase order number already exists)" in the configuration activity "Configure Sales Document Types (ID: 102495)".

    1. Go to configuration activity "Configure Sales Document Types (ID: 102495)".
    2. Select the sales document type "OR".
    3. Fill in the "Check Customer Reference" field with "A (Check whether the purchase order number already exists)".
