3581315 - Cost Rate for Material in Project Management Displaying as Zero

In the Project Management work center, the cost rate for a material in a project task is displayed as zero. However, in the Cost and Revenue work center, under Projects view plans, the amount is displayed correctly.

1. Go to Project Management work center.
2. Select the Projects view.
3. Search and open the relevant project.
4. Select the specific project task.
5. Navigate to the Materials sub-tab.

Observe that the cost rate for the material is displayed as zero.

The issue is caused by the Ship-From location not being maintained at the Header task level under the Basic Data tab. When a material is added with the From Stock option enabled, it means that the material should be picked from an internal location. If the business residence (internal location) is not received from the project, then the business residence is derived from the responsible unit for the project or the project task, and the material cost is taken for that business residence. However, when an internal location is maintained and the business residence belongs to it, it is not passed to the Finance side to fetch the stock maintained Material Cost rate. As a result, the business residence is derived from the responsible unit for the Project at the Finance side and returns the Cost rate for the same.

To permanently fix the functionality gap in Project Management, it is being addressed as a development task for a future release. In the meantime, a workaround solution is available in the Finance module. Under the Cost and Revenue work center view, cost rates are accurately determined based on the business residence sent from Project to Finance. This can be used as a temporary solution until the permanent fix is implemented in a future release.
