3581604 - When Migrating Opportunities the Error occurs "No external numbering is allowed for this document; ID is is rejected"

The following error occurs when migrating Opportunities and no records are migrated:

No external numbering is allowed for this document; ID is is rejected

Migration without an active change project not possible

ID missing

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Select the Overview view.
3. Search for and open the activity Migration of Opportunities.
4. Click on Migrate opportunities using the migration tool.
5. Select the your migration file and execute the steps.
6. During the Simulate Import step, the system reports the following errors:
   
   No external numbering is allowed for this document; ID is rejected
   Migration without an active change project not possible
   ID missing

The errors occurs because when you perform the migration of Opportunities without a change project the external number range is not assigned to the process type. 

To solve the issue, you need to create a change project for migration using following steps:

1. Create a Change Project.

2. Add the required Migration activities.

3. Close all the activities.

4. Merge the change project.

5. Now, the closed migration activities should be open.

6. Perform the migration.

7. Close the change project.
