Symptom

Encountered an issue while trying to release the TR using the Transport Organizer in ABAP Cloud.

The error message "Use of annotation OBJECTMODEL.VIRTUALELEMENTCALCULATEDBY is not allowed" was displayed.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Use Virtual Element in Projection View to calculate the value of preceding rows.
  2. Attempt to release the TR using the Transport Organize.

Resolution

In ABAP Cloud, the annotation @ObjectModel.virtualElementCalculatedBy cannot be used in CDS extensions. Virtual elements can be only used in CDS projection views.
