3581927 - Not Possible to Add Attachments for Manual Tax Entries

For some manual tax entries the option to add attachments is not available (as it does not appear in respective UI), however, for other manual tax entries the option is there.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Tax Management work center.
2. Go to the Manual Tax Entries view, and click VAT Entries.
3. Find Manual Tax Entry AAA and click Edit (AAA means the manual tax entry).
4. Under Account Assignment section, select any of the line items and notice that under the Attachments section all buttons are greyed out.
5. Now go back to the VAT Entries screen, find Manual Tax Entry BBB and click Edit (BBB means the manual tax entry).
6. Under Account Assignment section, select any of the line items and notice that there's a section named Attachments containing option to "Drop Files to Attach, or Browse...".

The question that arises is: why the system behaves differently when comparing the two manual tax entries?

It's only possible to add attachments to manual tax entries when such entries are created manually via the User Interface (UI).

Entries created via Excel upload or via standard web service "ManageTaxReceivablesPayablesEntryIn" does not have the attachment node created, hence cannot have attachments added.

This is the current system behavior when it comes to adding attachments to manual tax entries.

Suggestions for enhancement in this functionality could be done via the Customer Influence Portal for SAP Business ByDesign.
