3582221 - The "ORA-01450: maximum key length (6397) exceeded" occurs on creation of index AL_RELATION_INDX1 - SAP Data Services 14.3

Symptom

Unable to create local repository using SAP Data Services Repository Manager:

  • BODI-320002: Executing SQL file <C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Data Services\admin\repo\oracle\ora.sql>
  • BODI-320004: Error or warning in executing the SQL statement
    • Create index AL_RELATION_INDX1 on AL_RELATION 
    • (SRCTAB_DATASTORE, SRCTAB_OWNER, SRCTAB_NAME, SRCTAB_COLUMN,
    • TRGTAB_DATASTORE, TRGTAB_OWNER, TRGTAB_NAME, TRGTAB_COLUMN) 
  • The message from the underlying database is: <SQL submitted to Oracle Server XXX resulted in error <ORA-01450: maximum key length (6397) exceeded>
  • An error occurred during creation of the local repository. Please make sure to create %DS_COMMON_DIR%/log/Admin/repo directory and create repository again.  (BODI-300054)
