3582495 - How line items per page in a quote works

Symptom

When changing number of Line Items per page in a Quote and then starting a new Browser Session, value is set back to default value of 10.

Environment

SAP CPQ

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open a Quote
  2. On Item List, change number of line items per page
  3. Close Browser in order to start a new session (it might be needed to clear cookies and cache)
  4. Log into CPQ and open same quote
  5. See that number of line items per page is back to default value of 10.

Resolution

Paging is maintained in the session, this means it will be kept if the same session is used. These are the possible situations and behaviors that can be expected:

  • Page refresh (reloading, F5 action):
    • Paging is preserver and products table will show the same number as last selected
  • Clearing cache and cookies:
    • Paging is lost, products table will reset to the default number (currently 10)
  • Opening a new tab in the same browser:
    • Paging will be reset as it is not shared across tab. Each tab has its own state
  •  Opening a new window:
    • Behaves the same as when opening a new tab, paging will be reset.=
  • Close current tab and reopen CPQ in a new tab:
    • Paging is lost
  • Close the browser and reopen it:
    • Paging is lost
    • Modern browsers (e.g. Chrome, Firefox...) restore the storage session ("Continue where you left off"), paging can be maintained in such situations
