3582893 - Fixed Asset Status Remains Capitalized After Goods Receipt Reversal

Symptom

  • The status of Fixed Asset ABC remains as Capitalized even after the reversal of the Goods Receipt post-capitalization. (ABC represents Fixed Asset IT).
  • The expected status is Retired, as there are no Book Values due to the reversal of the Goods Receipt.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to the Fixed Asset work center.
  2. Select the view Fixed Asset.
  3. Search and find Fixed Asset ABC.

Status of Fixed Asset remains as Capitalized

Cause

  • The fixed asset does not have any Acquisition and production Costs (APC) related posting due to the cancellation of the Initial Goods and Services Receipt.
  • As a result, even though the status of the fixed asset ABC is Capitalized, the status of the only Individual Material is Assigned instead of Acquired.

Resolution

Retire the fixed asset ABC by manually setting the deactivation day for all set of books.

  1. Go to the Fixed Assets work center.
  2. Go to the Fixed Assets view.
  3. Select the fixed asset ABC.
  4. Click Edit Master Data.
  5. Navigate to the Life cycle Data subtab.
  6. For all Set of Books, set the Deactivation Date to the date which want to retire the fixed asset.
