Symptom
An issue arises when attempting to use Field-Level Overrides option in Role Based Permissions (RBP) to restrict the read / edit ability of users on Email Campaign fields.
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
Reproducing the Issue
Sample scenario: You want to limit users from editing certain details on email campaigns that are created.
1. Grant RBP Role the permission to Edit CampaignContent
2. Then use Field-Level Overrides to give Read-Only access to certain CampaignContent fields
3. Fields are still editable
Cause
Product Managers and Engineering confirmed that at the moment, the Field-Level Overrides option for accessing Email Campaign MDF objects is not supported.
Resolution
Currently, Role Based Permissions support View, Edit, and Import/Export permissions only for the below Email Campaign MDF objects:
- Campaign
- CampaignContent
- CampaignPool
- CampaignRecipient
You may raise this as an enhancement idea through Customer Influence tool. Kindly see KBA 2090228 - How to Submit Ideas for SAP SuccessFactors Products detailing how this process works.
