3583027 - Copied Sales Quote can be created for inactive Account

Symptom

When opening a Sales Quote assigned to an inactive Account and copying the Quote, error messages "You can't use business partner 12345 (ABCDE) because its status is 'Not Active'." is displayed. (Where 12345 is the Business Partner ID and ABCDE is the Account name).

The problem is that despite the error shown, users still can create a Sales Quote for an inactive Account.

 

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Sales > Sales Quotes.
  2. Open the desired Quote.
  3. Click on actions > copy.
  4. Fill the necessary fields.
  5. Click on Save and open.
  6. See the Quote is successfully created despite the error.

Cause

The new copied Sales Quote although is successfully created, it is inconsistent (Consistency Status = Inconsistent). So further processing of Sales Quote cannot happen until the errors are corrected. Every time this Quote is opened the errors will be raised.

The reason for this behavior is to be more error tolerant and provide the user a chance to correct the errors.

Resolution

This is the expected system behavior.
