Symptom
SAP MaxDB uses the secure storage of Eclipse to store the login data of managed databases encrypted. To do so the Database Studio uses a master password to access the secure storage.
With version 7.9.11 SAP MaxDB Database Studio changed the provider of the master password. In former versions the Database Studio prompted for the master password.
Database Studio 7.9.11 is using operating system integration with an internally generated secure master password. As a result, the security is done on the operating system user level and Database Studio starts now without user specified password and without login prompt.
In case the operating system account is shared for different activities, the registered instances are shared too. That could cause security issues. For this case it is required to return to the old behaviour using the password prompt.
This document shows how to enable the prompt again, or if required disable it.
