3584539 - Zero suppress option of BW query is not applied to Input control in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

In SAP Analytics Cloud, even after applying zero suppression in a BW query, members with only zero values still appear in the input control (filter) selection list.

Environment

SAP ANALYTICS CLOUD Version: 2025.1.5

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to SAC
  2. Create a new story and add a BW Live Connection as the data source.
  3. Insert a table and add a measure (e.g., Sales, Revenue) and a dimension (e.g., Product, Cost Center).
  4. Ensure that some dimension members have only zero values across all key figures.
  5. If zero suppression is already enabled in the underlying BW Query, SAC should remove rows with only zero values from the table.
  6. Add an input control (dropdown filter) for the same dimension used in the table (e.g., Product or Cost Center).
  7. Even though the table removes zero-only rows, the input control still lists those members, allowing them to be selected.

Cause

In SAC, input controls fetch members from BW master data rather than the query result set. Even if zero suppression is applied in the BW query, the input control still lists all master data members, including those without posted values.

Resolution

Modify the BW query to display only posted values instead of master data by adjusting the Access Mode for Result Values in Query Designer. Alternatively, manually uncheck zero-only members when setting up the input control in SAC.
