3584650 - Error 'Invalid file uploaded, please upload valid certificate file' when creating S/4HANA Cloud connection in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

Error message: 'Invalid file uploaded, please upload a valid certificate file' when attempting to create an S/4HANA cloud connection using client certificate authentication.

Environment

SAP ANALYTICS CLOUD 2025.1.8 

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log in to SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
  2. Navigate to the Connections section.
  3. Click on "Add Connection."
  4. Under Acquire Data select "SAP S/4HANA."
  5. Fill in all the required details.
  6. Choose "Client Certificate" as the authentication type.
  7. Upload the X.509 certificate.
  8. You will see the error message: 'Invalid file uploaded, please upload a valid certificate file.'

Cause

X.509 certificate must include both the private key and the certificate together; using any other type of certificate is not valid.

Resolution

Generate a valid X.509 certificate that includes both the private key and the certificate and upload it when creating the connection.
