Symptom
When generating the Learning Needs CSV report from the manager's team view, the report output is empty. However, when generating the same report from the administration side, the report returns data.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Learning
Reproducing the Issue
- Log into SAP SuccessFactors Learning as a manager >
- Navigate to My Learning >
- Click on Reports from the Activities dropdown menu in the Learning Home Page >
- Select Learning Needs (CSV) >
- Set User to 'All Direct Reports' >
- Set a Required Date >
- Run the report >
- Notice the report output is empty >
- Go to Learning Administration >
- Reports >
- User Learning Needs (CSV) >
- Open the Users filter and filter the users based on their manager >
- Ensure both active and inactive users are filtered >
- Select the option 'Direct Reports Only' and 'Include Indirect Reports' >
- Add to Filter >
- Submit Filter >
- Set the same Required Date used on the user's side >
- Notice the report returns data.
Cause
The discrepancy in the report output occurs because, on the learning administration side, inactive users are included in the report. In contrast, when running the report as a manager from the user's side, the query filters are set to select only active users in the system. These different user selections cause the discrepancies in the reports.
Resolution
This behavior is expected, and it is recommended to apply the same filters when running the report from both the manager's view and the administration side, if comparing the results is necessary.
