Attempt to update global assignment workflow but application error occurs:

1. Proxy as the specified user.
2. Click on home page for approval of the global assignment workflow.
3. Attempt to update the workflow. But an application error occurs.

This is a Known Issue.

The error occurs due to the use of an Employee Information Model based onInit rule in work permit information element. This is currently a limitation with global assignment. The base object "employee information model" doesn't support for onInit rule in work permit information element.  

In order to address this, we have planned a code enhancement, designated as ECT-237467. But at this moment, a specific timeline for this fix has not been established.

Workaround

As a temporary workaround, please disable the onInit rule in work permit information element and then update the workflow.
