3584845 - Pay component can be added into compensation before its effective start date through Import

Symptom

Pay component can be added into compensation before its effective start date only through Import, but not through UI.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Set association configuration from Pay Component to Legal Entity.
  2. For a specific Pay Component A, set association with Legal Entity B from Effective Start Date 1st April 2025.

  3. Via MSS/History: It is NOT possible to create a new compensation information/Pay component recurring record with Pay Component A for Effective Start Date before 1st April 2025. The Pay Component A value can simply NOT be selected from the Pay Component dropdown list. ==> (Desired)

    Via Import: It is possible to create a new compensation information/Pay component recurring record with Pay Component A for Effective Start Date before 1st April 2025. ==> (NOT Desired)

Cause

This is a Known Issue.

Pay Component under Pay Component Recurring is associated to Legal Entity under Job Information, as Service Layer does NOT handle cross-entity association, hence the import is successful. 

Resolution

In order to address this, we have planned a code enhancement, designated as ECT-248709, which will allow cross-entity validation during EC Imports. But at this moment, a specific timeline for this fix has not been established.

Workaround

As a temporary workaround, it is advised to add Pay Component into Compensation through UI, rather than through Import. This will ensure that validation works as desired.
