3585398 - Signal 11 at address mem_haschunk with ASE crash - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • ASE errorlog reports an "intected with signal 11" error in the module mem_haschunk together with a stack trace:

Current process (0x68ad0055) infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
    Address 0x0x0000000001ae401c (mem_haschunk+0xc), siginfo (code, address) = (128, 0x(nil))

  • As a result ASE shuts downs because the spid is holding spinlock rprocmgr_spin:

Spinlock Resource->rprocmgr_spin at address 0x00007f69b50eb780 owned by 1756168277
  • The stack trace includes some or all of these modules:

    mem_haschunk
    mem_getpages
    memalloc
    memalloc_zero
    freeprocs

Note: A complete stack trace is available under Attachments in file Signal_11_mem_haschunck_Full_Sequence.txt.
