Symptom
You are unable to import an XBRL file into the SAP Business ByDesign E-Bilanz Transfer Client. Instead of being able to choose the XBRL / XML file from hard disk another window pops up asking you to select an ERP connection ("ERP - Verbindungsaufbau").
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Install the E-bilanz Client from the Download Center.
- Create an E-Bilanz Run XXX in the General Ledger Work Center (where XXX is the E-Bilanz Run ID).
- Go to the Application and User Management Work Center.
- Go to the Form Template Maintenance view.
- Download the latest GCDE-BilanzGermany template.
- Open the freshly downloaded E-Bilanz Template in Excel.
- Go to the tab SAP ERP Client for E-Bilanz.
- Press Import XBRL-Datei (Import XBRL file).
You try to attempt to select the XML file from the hard disk. Instead a window opens to select "ERP-Connection". ("ERP- Verbindungsaufbau" in german language).
Cause
A glitch in the last delivery of the SAP Client for Business ByDesign led to an incorrect value in the SAP.OperationalManagement.dll.config file. The value was mistakenly set to "erp" instead of "byd". This will be corrected in future versions of the SAP ERP Client for E-Bilanz file. In the meantime there is a workaround available.
Resolution
- Open the Windows File Explorer.
- Navigate to the SAP Business ByDesign SAP ERP Client for E-Bilanz main path (usually C:\Windows\Program Files (x86)\SAP\SAP ERP Client for Business ByDesign).
- In the main path edit the SAP.OperationalManagement.dll.config file.
- Change the value from "erp" to "byd" in the following section:
- <appSettings>
<add key="product" value="byd"/>
</appSettings> - Save and close the file.
- Open the GCDE-BilanzGermany template in Excel.
- Click on import XBRL file (Import XBRL Datei).
- Select the XBRL / XML file from the hard disk.
You can now import the XBRL / XML file from the E-Bilanz run XXX.
