3586084 - Error "Unable to connect to connproxy" when validate S/4HANA On-Premise connection in Datasphere

Symptom

Cloud Connector is selected for Data Provisioning Option under Remote Tables section of S/4HANA On-Premise connection to use the ABAP SQL service to federate data with remote tables.

When validate the S/4HANA On-Premise connection in Datasphere, below error message is displayed in the details:

Remote Tables: Unable to connect remote source: [SAP][ODBCforABAP] (08001) Open backend connection: Unable to connect to connproxy-<hana_db_instance>:20003, Code: 5921, SQL State: HY000_

Environment

SAP Datasphere

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Select the checkbox in front of the connection to S/4HANA On-Premise.
  2. Click Validate button.

Cause

ConnectivityProxy on BTP is not enabled.

Resolution

ConnectivityProxy should be enabled for all the HANA cloud under the Datasphere's tenant. The development team is checking the reason why it is disabled in some tenants. As a workaround, create a case and send it to SAP support with below information:

  1. The URL of your Datasphere.
  2. The message which is displayed when validate the connection.
Remote Tables: Unable to connect remote source: [SAP][ODBCforABAP] (08001) Open backend connection: Unable to connect to connproxy-<hana_db_instance>:20003, Code: 5921, SQL State: HY000_

HANA cloud team will enable ConnectivityProxy for that tenant.
