Symptom
Cloud Connector is selected for Data Provisioning Option under Remote Tables section of S/4HANA On-Premise connection to use the ABAP SQL service to federate data with remote tables.
When validate the S/4HANA On-Premise connection in Datasphere, below error message is displayed in the details:
Remote Tables: Unable to connect remote source: [SAP][ODBCforABAP] (08001) Open backend connection: Error during handshake response: No 101 Switching Protocols status found, Code: 5921, SQL State: HY000

Reproducing the Issue
- Select the checkbox in front of the connection to S/4HANA On-Premise.
- Click Validate button.
Cause
WebSocket is not activated in the Cloud Connector. The "ODBC Driver for ABAP" definitely needs this protocol, HTTPS is not sufficient.
Resolution
- Select the entry in Cloud Connector.
- Click edit icon to show Edit Resource dialog.
- Select the WebSocket checkbox and save.
In version 2.18.0 and above of Cloud Connector, select the Upgrade Allowed checkbox and save.
