3586103 - Error "No 101 Switching Protocols status found" when validate S/4HANA On-Premise connection in Datasphere

Symptom

Cloud Connector is selected for Data Provisioning Option under Remote Tables section of S/4HANA On-Premise connection to use the ABAP SQL service to federate data with remote tables.

When validate the S/4HANA On-Premise connection in Datasphere, below error message is displayed in the details:

Environment

SAP Datasphere

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Select the checkbox in front of the connection to S/4HANA On-Premise.
  2. Click Validate button.

Cause

WebSocket is not activated in the Cloud Connector. The "ODBC Driver for ABAP" definitely needs this protocol, HTTPS is not sufficient.

Resolution

  1. Select the entry in Cloud Connector.
  2. Click edit icon to show Edit Resource dialog.
  3. Select the WebSocket checkbox and save.

In version 2.18.0 and above of Cloud Connector, select the Upgrade Allowed checkbox and save.
