3586622 - "Negative stock not allowed in log. area" Error During Adjustment Confirmation in Production Lot

Errors occur when attempting to execute adjustment confirmation for a production lot. The error message displays as following despite the selected stock are available in the selected logistics area. (XXX represent for logistics area ID; YYY represent for material ID; ZZZ represent for identified stock ID)

• -Negative stock not allowed in log. area XXX (prod. YYY  identified stock ZZZ )

  -Save failed

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Navigate to Production Control work center.
2. Go to Monitoring view.
3. Select All Lots by Selection from down list.
4. Search for the desired production lot ID.
5. Edit it.
6. Click on Adjustment Confirmation.
7. Click on Enable Entry.
8. Input the required details and select row material YYY with identified stock ZZZ.
9. Maintain Quantity Difference.
10. Attempt to Save. The above errors occur.

The material YYY with identified stock ZZZ has available Stock in the logistics unit, but the production task is confirmed with a logistics area without a logistics Unit. When performing adjustment confirmation, the system requires the stock to be the same as the previously confirmed logistics area. However, there is not enough stock to fulfill it, resulting in errors.

Ensure that there is enough stock in the previously confirmed logistics area XXX.
