3586662 - An error occurs when creating a new asset structure

Symptom

An error "Invalid namespace for Japan: Asset Structure of Annex16" (Message no: /FTI/WEBGUI_MSG031) is encountered when attempting to creating a new asset structure.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the configuration activity Create Asset Structures(ID:102340).
  2. Click New Entries and Fill out the asset structure.
  3. The error "Invalid namespace for Japan: Asset Structure of Annex16" (Message no: /FTI/WEBGUI_MSG031) occurs.

Cause

The namespace you used is not allowed by SAP default setting.

Customers cannot create records starting with below mentioned SAP Best practice content namespace restrictions.       

SAP reserved character fields - S, Q, R, X, P, Y

SAP reserved numeric fields - 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0

Resolution

  1. Refrain from creating records starting with the restricted character fields: S, Q, R, X, P, Y.
  2. Avoid creating records starting with the restricted numeric fields: 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0.
