Symptom

  • ST22 dump header DBSQL_ILLEGAL_CLIENT_SPECIFIED with short text DBSQL_ILLEGAL_CLIENT_SPECIFIED for Custom ABAP Z program
  • In the ST22 dump in the 'Error Analysis' section you find the following text: 
Addition "CLIENT SPECIFIED" has been used with SELECT on a table or                           |
|    view with a replacement object. As the replacement object accesses the                        |
|    session variable $session.client however, "CLIENT SPECIFIED" cannot be                        |
|    used. Please check whether "USING CLIENT" can be used instead of                              |
|    "CLIENT SPECIFIED". The compiler also posts a warning to this effect.
