3587102 - NullPointerException error found for a business rule in Offer Approval - Recruiting Management

When you configure a business rule using an object field, it didn't work as expected. Checking on rule trace, NullPointerException is found for example: "Error: NullPointerException occurred in custom property handlers while evaluating the property offerInternalStatus in XXXX"

Expected behavior.

The error arises because the rule is attempting to access field on the Offer Approval form object. Unfortunately, as this form has not yet been created, a NullPointerException error results.

At present, the functionality you seek cannot be realized using existing rules.

There are no immediate plans to implement this feature, as it has not been widely requested by customers. Nonetheless, we recognize the potential utility of a rule function capable of verifying the existence of an offer approval form. Therefore, we suggest submitting an enhancement request to our Product Management Team, following the guidelines outlined in KBA 2090228- "How to Submit Enhancement Requests for SAP SuccessFactors Products".
