3587369 - Error OL403 when creating method for a BOR object in SWO1

Symptom

When creating a method in the Business Object Repository (BOR) using transaction SWO1 by selecting "Create with function module as template", error "Data type & cannot be used for methods" (Message No. OL403) raised.

Error details:
"Data type OTYPE cannot be used for methods
Message No. OL403
Diagnosis
You tried to create a method in the BOR with a data type that is not supported. In the BOR, only flat structures or fields of flat structures are allowed as reference types for parameters."
