3587697 - Error FAA_MD026 when releasing an Enterprise Project

Error message 'Please enter the planned useful life in depr. area XX starting at MM/DD/YYYY' (FAA_MD026) is displayed when releasing a project with profile Investment Project inside app 'Project Control - Enterprise Projects'.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open app 'Project Control - Enterprise Projects';
2. Search and select a project with profile 'Investment Project' to open its details;
3. Click on Processing Status > Release;
4. Notice that the error message 'Please enter the planned useful life in depr. area XX starting at MM/DD/YYYY' will be displayed, preventing the Processing Status from being changed.

The configuration of Planned Useful Life (in years) and Period is missing for the related Asset Class.  

At first, it is necessary to check the relevant Asset Class, using the following steps:

1. Open app Manage Fixed Assets;
2. Click on Adapt Filters > enable the filter Investment Project WBS Element;
3. Insert the ID of the affected project inside this filter;
4. Check the Asset Class field.

After noting down the Asset Class ID, navigate to SSCUI 102609 - 'Make Valuation View-Dependent Settings for Asset Class' and:

1. Select the relevant Asset Class;
2. Navigate to the Asset Class: Settings for Valview section;
3. Configure values for Planned Useful Life (in years) and Period.

Be aware that Depreciation Keys with base method different than 'No auto' are not allowed to have the Planned Useful Life and Period set as empty.
