3588124 - Error Starting LDAP Connector due to missing libldap_r-2.4.so.2 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9

Symptom

  • ldap_rfc fails to start, with the error similar to:
    /usr/sap/SID/D00/exe/ldap_rfc: error while loading shared libraries: libldap_r-2.4.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory. 

  • LDAP Connector reports the error as:

    Error starting LDAP Connector at operating system level

    Message no. LDAP070
