3588280 - External ID Case Sensitive Search in Account OWL

Symptom

When filtering for an Account by External ID in the OWL, the search results vary depending on case sensitivity.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

Example: you have an Account with External ID "ABC".

  1. Go to Customers WC > Account OWL
  2. Filter the column External ID for value
  3. Example: "abc" or "aBC"
  4. No results are shown
  5. Now search for External ID "ABC"
  6. Results are found as expected

Resolution

This is the standard behavior of the system.

External IDs are considered to be an unique data, so the system has been designed to use case sensitive search for this field.
