3588724 - How to Prevent Automatic STO Proposal Creation When Source Site Stock is Zero?

Symptom

  • The system is currently set to Consumption-Based Planning in the Material master data Planning tab.
  • When stock at any source site reaches zero, the system automatically generates a Stock Transfer Order (STO) proposal.
  • The need to manually switch from consumption-based to manual planning to prevent the system from creating an STO proposal.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Supply Planning work center.
  2. Navigate to the Products view.
  3. Select the required product ID with planning area.
  4. Choose Open.
  5. Observe that the system generates STO proposals automatically when stock reaches zero.

Cause

There is no automatic method to prevent the creation of stock transfer proposals when the planning procedure is set to consumption based planning.

To prevent this, you can change the demand procedure to manual planning.
