3589081 - Deleted purchase requisitions can be adopted in Create Purchase Order - Advanced(ME21N)

Symptom

The item in the Purchase Requisition is flagged for deletion. However, when it is referred to in Create Purchase Order - Advanced during PO creation, the requisition will be adopted despite the deletion flag.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

This is the intended system design. The check for the deletion flag is executed after the Purchase Requisition is adopted.

Resolution

The following workarounds can be used:

Option 1:
It is possible to configure message 06 050 (Purchase requisition & item & already deleted) as an error in Customizing. This will not prevent the system from adopting the deleted PR, but the PO cannot be saved unless the reference to the deleted requisition is removed:
SSCUI 102364 --- Define Attributes of System Messages

Option 2:
If using the Document Overview in Create Purchase Order - Advanced to select PR, it is possible to prevent the deleted PRs from being selected by using the criteria "Deletion Indicator" from the dynamic selections.

See the detailed steps in KBA 3589002 - Deleted items are visible in document overview while creating purchase order with the reference to other purchasing document
