3589327 - Planned Work Is Not Displayed for Half-Day Holiday in the Resource Calendar of SAP Business ByDesign

Planned work hours are not displayed in the Resource Calendar for an employee on a date defined as a half-day holiday in SAP Business ByDesign.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Navigate to the Business Analytics work center.
2. Open the Design Data Sources view.
3. Search for and open the Resource Calendar report.
4. Enter the Employee ID.
5. Select a date that is defined as a half-day holiday.
6. In the View section, add the Date field.
7. Run the report.
8. Observe that no planned work hours are displayed.

• In the Resource Calendar, planned work is proportionally distributed between the start and end dates of the work package, considering only the employee’s working days.
• The system uses the following formula to determine planned hours per day: Planned Hours per Day = Total Planned Work ÷ (End Date – Start Date – (Days Off + Holidays + Absences))

• Half-day holidays are included under holidays and non-working time, are therefore excluded from this calculation.
• As a result, no planned hours are assigned on those dates.

• During resource planning, half-day holidays are considered non-working time. As a result, the system does not assign or display any planned work hours for these dates in the Resource Calendar.
• This is expected system behavior.
