3589383 - Time lag in the subscription start running in Data Export Service in SAP Analytics Cloud

Symptom

  • Using Data Export Service(api/v1/dataexport) to export data from SAP Analytics Cloud to Datasphere. Using Delta Functionality and Subscriptions to track data changes in a planning model.

  • When SAC planning model's data changes, it is observed it takes 2~5 minutes to get the subscription start running and being executed.

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Set up Data Export Service and create a subscription to track the change for a planning model in SAC to export the data to Datasphere.
  2. Make changes to the planning model's data by submitting some data and publish.
  3. Monitor the subscription id.
  4. Subscription end time("Subscription Details - End Time") matches with the time the data was published in the model, however there are 2 ~5 minutes lag till the subscription ran("Subscription Chains - Last Accessed").

Cause

By design.

Resolution

The delta replication functionality is not designed as a real-time functionality; it is rather near real-time. As such, a lag of 2-5 minutes is expected, and is not considered an issue.
