3589810 - Canvas size resets to default after updating the diagram size in Editor

Symptom

Updating the canvas size does not retain the changes made in the Editor. After modifying the canvas size (either decreasing or increasing it), the changes revert back to the default canvas dimensions once the diagram is reloaded.

Environment

Signavio Process Manager

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open a diagram in the Editor, increase/decrease the canvas size horizontally or vertically
  2. Save the changes
  3. Refresh the page or re-open the diagram

Result: Changes in the canvas size is not retained

Resolution

The behavior is expected. The canvas automatically resets to the default size (width: 1485px / height: 1050px), and any increased canvas area without elements placed in it is not retained.

  • If the canvas size is decreased to less than the default size, it will revert to the default.
  • If a user increases the canvas size but does not place any element in the expanded/increased area, the canvas also resets back to the default size.

If a larger canvas is required, place at least one modeling element in the expanded section to ensure the increased canvas size is preserved on reload.
