3589896 - Unable to Change Access Restrictions for Business User Related to Project Management

Symptom

The user is unable to modify the access restrictions for the work center ID "PRO_PROJECTMANAGEMENT".

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Application and User Management work center.
  2. Go to the Business Users view.
  3. Search for the specific user.
  4. Click on Edit and go to access rights.
  5. Navigate to "Access Restrictions".
  6. Search for work center ID "PRO_PROJECTMANAGEMENT".
  7. Attempt to change the access here.

Cause

In the "Business Role Assignment " assignment tab, you can see the business role "XXX" is assigned to the user. (XXX is business role created for projects)

The restrictions are defined in the business role. Hence your unable to change the rights at the user level.

Resolution

To change the access restrictions in the business role and this will be reflected to the business user.
