3590024 - "Complete Content in Sequence" not respected and user can bypass the content

Symptom

  • An item has been created which includes two online contents and an exam.
  • The second online content displays a lock icon, however, the exam does not, allowing users to bypass the second online content and proceed directly to the exam.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create an item which includes two online content objects of type SCORM 2004 and one exam>
  2. Enable the "Complete Content in Sequence" under the "Online Content" tab >
  3. Observe that the second online content displays a lock icon, but the exam does not.

Cause

Ideally, SCORM 2004 should be added as a package, not as an object. Hence, the behaviour occurs when attempting to use SCORM 2004 as a content object instead of adding it as a content package.

Also, you cannot add 2 SCORM packages into a single item. When tried the application throws a validation error message as below.

Resolution

  1. Collaborate with the content developer to convert the contents from SCORM 2004 to SCORM 1.2 >
  2. Import the new SCORM 1.2 online content objects into Learning >
  3. Associate both SCORM 1.2 online content objects to an Item as shown below >
  4. Now, you can see the lock symbol appears for both the exam & 2nd content.

This should work as SCORM 1.2 does not require packaging to function properly when multiple online content objects are in the same Item.
