3590224 - Non-MDF picklists do not support effective date

Symptom

Add a future effective date record to a picklist that is assigned to a non-MDF field, for example job information field, the field is not working properly when the future date has reached.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to a picklist that is configured outside MDF, for example in job information
  2. Add a future dated record to this picklist, and add a new picklist value B in the future record
  3. On that future date, go to any user's job info and choose any effective date
  4. Choose the value B, it shows up in the dropdown list, but if you click on save, you will get an error

Cause

Expected. Picklists that are configured outside MDF are not effective dated, for example, job information. In such picklists, when they have multiple versions, the current date is considered as the effective date. This behavior is similar to the picklist in MDF objects that have effective dating set as None. You can also refer to Picklist Versions | SAP Help Portal.

Resolution

Only one record for picklists that are configured outside MDF is allowed, because multiple records with different effective dates are not respected in this case.
