3590582 - Unable to use Replace function to substitute SAP BW Query with SAP Datasphere Model in SAC Story

When attempting to leverage the Replace Data Source functionality in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) to replace existing BW Queries with Datasphere Models, you get the following error:

SAP Analytics Cloud

1. Open an SAC story (Optimized Design Experience)
2. Select a Live BW model and click on replace
3. Select a Datasphere Analytic model as the new source

This limitation is explicitly mentioned in the documentation:

Unsupported Replacement Scenarios

The following replacement scenarios won't be supported.

• Data models with different structures (for example, an account model (CAM) to a model that has multiple measures (and no accounts); a model with measures (and no accounts) to a model with accounts and measures; SAP BW 1-Structure to SAP BW 2-Structure, and so on).

• Across Live data sources (for example, SAP BW to SAP Datasphere).

• Across Live to Acquired data sources.

• Data model with version to data model without version.

Currently there is no plan to support this feature.
