3590797 - AAS Installation Failure due to ERROR_ACCOUNT_LOCKED_OUT

Symptom

  • The installation of Additional Application Server (AAS) on a new server (Windows) is getting terminated with below error in sapinst_dev.log

         ERROR      2025-03-27 12:05:06.815 (hostname\sidadm) (startInstallation) [CSiStepExecute.cpp:1105] id=controller.stepExecuted errno=FCO-00011 CSiStepExecute::execute()
The step createService with step key |NW_DI|ind|ind|ind|ind|0|0|NW_DI_Instance|ind|ind|ind|ind|di|0|NW_Instance|ind|ind|ind|ind|4|0|createService was executed with status ERROR (Last error reported by the step: '<Driver>:/usr/sap/SID/D00/exe/sapstartsrv.exe' returned with '-1').

  • In Event Viewer, below error is recorded

    Cannot open Profile \\Hostname\sapmnt\SID\SYS\profile\SID_D00_hostname. (Error 1909 ERROR_ACCOUNT_LOCKED_OUT: The referenced account is currently locked out and may not be logged on to.) [<driver>:/depot/bas/789_REL/src/proj/ntserv/ntservstart.cpp 1087]
