3590871 - Manager Search for specific Class shows all similar descriptions instead of exact matches

Symptom

As a manager, when searching for a specific class using class description to register users, search result displays all class options with descriptions containing any similarities to the search terms, instead of showing only the specific class that exact matches the search criteria.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to My Learning
  2. Go to My Team tab
  3. Select Register/Withdraw Employees from manager links.
  4. Click on Register Employees
  5. Click on 'Add' under class
  6. Search for a specific class description
  7. Notice that the top result does not exactly match with the class description

Cause

The class search is sorted using the class start date and end date.

Resolution

The search results are sorted using the class start and end date. To further shorten the search results, it is recommended to use other available filters such as the date filter, but the results will always be sorted using the class start date and end date.

The system is designed to display all matching results when you search for a class title. It then sorts these results based on the class start and end date. This is the expected behavior of the system.

If you wish to have a different system behavior, we kindly request that you submit an enhancement request. This will allow our Product Management team to prioritize and work on it based on the votes from other customers.
