3591016 - Error "The business roles in the uploaded file could not be parsed" when trying to upload file to application Maintain Business Roles

An error message is encountered stating "The business roles in the uploaded file could not be parsed" when attempting to upload XML file containing business roles to the Target System.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the application 'Maintain Business Roles' in your Target system.
2. Select the roles you wish to download and click the button 'Download'.
3. Make a change in the file after the download.
4. Attempt to upload the file containing the business roles in your Target System.
5. Encounter the error message "The business roles in the uploaded file could not be parsed".

• The XML file has been modified before uploading to the target system.
• The XML file is 5-10mb in size and is triggering an ICM Timeout.

If an ICM Timeout is being triggered, ensure that the XML file size is below 5mb before uploading to 'Maintain Business Roles' application.

If the error is occurring due to the file being edited after download, please follow the alternative steps:

1. Open the application 'Maintain Business Roles'.
2. Select the role you wish to edit and click the button 'Copy'.
3. Enter required fields.
4. Open the newly copied business role and click 'Create Derived Business Role'.
