3591086 - An unknown exception occurred on calling Output Management Service

Symptom

When attempting to open Summary for an object, the error message "An unknown exception occurred on calling Output Management Service" is shown.

Environment

Sales & Service Cloud Version 2

Reproducing the Issue

Example:

  1. Open Leads Workspace.
  2. In Leads view, click on the Action button "Summary".
  3. Error message is shown.

Cause

A rule first needs to be added to the Lead form template, and the status updated to active.

Resolution

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Navigate to Output Management Settings.
  3. Choose Select Form Template.
  4. Open the Lead Entity.
  5. Add a rule by clicking the add button(+) and choosing a value for the "templateId" column.
  6. Save the rule by clicking the tick option.
  7. Lastly, it is important to activate the template using the "Activate" button on top right of screen.
  8. This should ideally resolve your error message.

You can repeat the same steps for each entity, depending on what entity is giving the error message.
