Symptom

When creating reports in Story Report for Interview Scheduling, multiple entries are created per candidate.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to Admin Center > Reporting > Story Report.
  2. Create a Story Report for reporting on interview scheduling fields.
  3. Multiple entries are created per candidate.

Cause

The reason of the duplications is because there are multiple interviewers. There will be 1 line for each interviewer, even if the interviewer name is not selected for the display making the “illusion” of identical lines.

Resolution

As designed, Story report builds the JOINs between tables is “left join” which means taking all records available, regardless of the display options. In order to identify the differences of the entries, enable "Display Name" column. This will display the name of the Interviewers.
