3591331 - When does Apply Planned Time button show up in the Time Sheet UI ?

This KBA explains when Apply Planned Time button will show up on the top right corner in day panel of Time Sheet UI. 

If you need to hide this Apply Planned Time button, you can just ensure one or more of the mentioned prerequisite is not met, so that this Apply Planned Time button will disappear.

• Apply Planned Time button will not show for negative nor overtime recorders.
  This is because negative recorders only need to record the deviation from the planned working time, and the planned working time will be generated by system.
  And the overtime recorders only need to record the overtime they have worked, so planned working time is not needed for overtime recorders.
• Apply Planned Time button will only be shown for positive recorders when below conditions are all met.
  • Edit permission is needed for Employee Time Sheet.Employee Time Sheet Entry object under Time Management Object Permissions category, if Legacy Week time sheet is used.
    Edit permission is needed for Time Recording object under Time Management Object Permissions category, if Flexible Period time sheet is used.
  • Main Attendance Time Type is maintained with an Attendance Time Type in the Time Profile assigned to the employee.
  • Enabled in employee self-service scenario needs to be Yes in Details for the maintained Main Attendance Time Type, in order to ensure Apply Planned Time button show up in ESS scenario.
    If Enabled in employee self-service scenario is No for the maintained Main Attendance Time Type, the Apply Planned Time button will only show up in non-ESS scenario. 
    Steps to check this setting is,
    1. Access the Time Profile of the employee from Manage Data and confirmed the Main Attendance Time Type.
    2. Move to Available Time Type section in the Time Profile.
    3. Click on the Details link associated to the maintained Main Attendance Time Type.
    4. Check and ensure Enabled in employee self-service scenario is Yes, if you need Apply Planned Time button to show up in ESS scenario.
       
  • Clock In Clock Out Group is not assigned in the employee's Job Information.
    Once the employee has been assigned with Clock In Clock Out Group in the Job Information, it indicates that this employee should punch in and out in order to do the time recording, rather than maintaining attendance manually from time sheet UI.
    So the Apply Planned Time button will not show if the employee is assigned with Clock In Clock Out Group.
  • As of 1H 2025 release, there will be a new field Available for Apply Planned Time introduced together with the new feature as mentioned in Blog Post New Convenience Feature in Time Sheet UI: Quick Create  for Time Tracking customers.
    So after the 1H 2025 release,
    • If SF Time Tracking is enabled, then aside from above configurations, it is also needed to ensure Available for Apply Planned Time field is set to Yes for the maintained Main Attendance Time Type.
      Otherwise, the Apply Planned Time will not show up in both ESS and non-ESS scenarios.
      Steps to check this setting is,
      
      1. Access the Time Profile of the employee from Manage Data and confirmed the Main Attendance Time Type.
      2. Move to Available Time Type section in the Time Profile.
      3. Click on the Details link associated to the maintained Main Attendance Time Type.
      4. Check and ensure Available for Apply Planned Time is Yes.
         
    • If SF Time Tracking is not enabled, this Available for Apply Planned Time field is also available, and it will be defaulted as Yes for the maintained Main Attendance Time Type.
      But it is not allowed to change the value for this field for EC Time Sheet customers without Time Tracking enabled.
